Butlins Interiors
XKX acted as Project Director on the refit of 3 resorts for Bourne Leisure. The resort areas that underwent extensive refurbishment included
nightclubs, theatre venues, restaurants and bars with the key brief to deliver maximum impact and drive and grow resort revenue.
We worked very closely with Resort Directors throughout each stage of the project to develop the design and ensure that the strategy
for delivering phased projects was achieved.

Butlins - Minehead
Center Stage Bar refurbishment
The brief was to identify the bottlenecks and provide the venue with better flow, giving the customer
a much improved journey around the bar and stage areas..
We indroduced curved levels and a glass balustrade for better views through to the performances. We also ensured maximum impact and sight to the bars by introducing open spaces which
could be flooded with light and filled with product.
This was all achieved with a range of materials including stainless steel, glass, high pressure laminates, polycarbonates and vinyls.
The bespoke LED lighting system, offering a range of colours and luminosity (controlled via a central unit)
allows the venue manager to influence mood and ambience to fit the performance.
Check in area - before and after
From concept through to delivery this project took only 3 weeks to complete.
The brief was to create a new look and feel, providing a more functional layout combined with an improved customer journey.
The old style airport check in desks (conjuring up notions of stressful, slow moving queues!) were replaced with a modern, stylish approach. The natural wood
combines well with the section signage to deliver a calm, clean and functional area for arriving guests.
Gold reception area - before and after
The brief was to create a premium reception area for the Gold offer at Butlins Minehead.
The original reception area was hard to differentiate from the standard reception and offered no real stand out.
We created a larger, more open space by opening up the front, introducing some simple landscaping and giving a whole new look and feel to both inside and out.
The result was a distinctive and high class reception area, affording customers a sense of comfort and luxury.
Bar Rosso refurbishment
The brief asked for a new look and a more contemporary feel.
By using modern, reflective materials we were able to give the customer a better sense of space and improved vision
while keeping lighting at comfortable, more sociable levels.
Butlins Splash project
This was a mammoth project across all 3 Butlins resorts with the added logistical issue of simultaneous installation.
